In Japan, used toothbrushes are collected and recycled into products that help the recovery of areas affected by the Great East Japan earthquake. This Toothbrush Recycling Program supported by Lion Corporation aims to repurpose the materials contained in used toothbrushes to create planters, benches, and other products that can be donated to communities in need. KidZania is joining this effort in order to send items to the city of Ishinomaki in Miyagi prefecture, an area that suffered as a result of the earthquake.
If you use a toothbrush that is old, the bristles cannot clean your teeth well. Dentists recommend changing your toothbrush every month, and now, you can bring your old toothbrush to KidZania instead of throwing it away.
Please put your toothbrushes in the collection boxes located at the Dental Clinic or at any of the other 4 locations around the park.
The following items will not be accepted:
- Electric toothbrush body or replacement brushes
- Natural hair brushes
- Interdental brushes
※One toothbrush, weighing approximately 10 grams, will earn 2 donation points, worth about 2 yen.
